PRESENTATION:

After the Alaska Supreme Court opinion there have been many questions about Qualified Expert Witnesses (QEWs). Alaska State refers to QEWs as Cultural Experts. This session will provide information on what a QEW is, their purpose in an ICWA case, appropriate compensation protocols and how they are identified to provide testimony in a court case.
