Kin Support Program

Description:

“Kin” refers to people in a child’s family, whether blood relative, clan family or someone a child think of as family. The Kin Support Program-Haa Yaitx’u Saiana serves Southeast Alaska kinship families outside the foster care system. Services are culturally-based which support healthy intergenerational relationships that keep children and youth safe, stable and out of the foster care system. This session will describe how Family Specialists connect all generations to financial assistance, health care, housing, transportation, childcare, counseling and school support.
